WILMINGTON, Del. -- For supporters of Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.), all eyes will be on Delaware's New Castle County Tuesday where the level of turnout in the state's contested GOP Senate primary could make or break the longtime congressman.
New Castle County houses the urban population centers of Delaware. It contains Newark and Wilmington, the state's largest city.
The Castle campaign is hoping for solid turnout Tuesday in and around Wilmington to help the centrist congressman offset more conservative primary-goers in the southern part of the state who may be backing Tea Party favorite Christine O'Donnell.
O'Donnell is banking on support from an energized conservative base to help her to an upset Tuesday.
The best estimates of observers in the state put turnout in Tuesday's closed Republican primary around 40,000 voters. For Tea Party-backed Christine O'Donnell, the lower the turnout, the better on Tuesday.
At least 70 Castle volunteers were campaigning door-to-door Sunday, many aimed at drumming up turnout among Castle-friendly Republicans in the northern part of the state.
Near Wilmington, it's not tough to see that the area is Castle's base. Castle for Senate billboards and signs are numerous in Wilmington and just outside of the downtown area, while O'Donnell signs are hard to come by.
At least one small O'Donnell for Senate sign was spotted alongside Route 202, close to downtown Wilmington. It stood in the shadow of a much larger Castle sign and a bright red campaign sign for Glen Urquhart, the conservative challenger running in the primary for Delaware's at-large House seat.
O'Donnell is banking on turnout from the state's two counties just to the South of New Castle--Kent and Sussex counties.
The Tea Party Express has a phone bank set up in-state to make GOTV calls on O'Donnell's behalf and the group is coordinating an effort with supporters from out of state to phone Delaware voters ahead of Tuesday.
O’Donnell is ahead in the polls by 3.
Let us pray for an early blizzard in Delaware on Tuesday. The Conservatives will get to the polls, even if they have to crawl over glass.
Pray it happens in the Primary, because it would certainly happen in the General, and then we keep a D in the Senate. Read the article and ask yourself, when are Conservatives going to stop supporting every scammer and nut job who attends a few Tea Parties and then proclaims themselves a Conservative? Read the article.... AND DO SOME CRITICAL THINKING. She is a nut job and a scammer.
She also just rec’d Sarah Palin’s endorsement.
Forecast Clear 83 degrees
We just need to work a bit harder y’all!
and you would rather see someone who will lord over us with their support for a liberal/socialistic agenda?
Let me tell you sir, with all due respect! I would encourage you to do some 'due diligence' yourself, and see that Castle cant argue the 'issues' only the 'personal'. A low dirt-bagger ploy. That, in my opinion, is lower than a 'nut job' and a 'scammer'.
I’d be happy to offer my rebuttal- but what’s the point when I would just be responding to a cut n’ paste job?...

I’ve read a few things about her and I think your analysis, i.e. “She is a nut job and a scammer”, is quite astute. The more we learn about her, the weirder she seems. Frankly, I can’t think of anyone, regardless of party, I would less rather have in office than a paranoiac who lies about her education, has made a mess of her personal finances, and sues her boss when she imagines some injustice.
“when are Conservatives going to stop supporting every scammer and nut job who attends a few Tea Parties and then proclaims themselves a Conservative?”
Great point. The downside of the TPM is that many previously failed political wannabes and cranks have simply hopped on the bandwagon hoping that this will be their ticket to the bigs. B/c the TP is really more of a reaction to 0bama’s spending and Big Gov’t than an actual movement or party, people can claim to be a “Tea Party Activist” despite the fact that there was nothing to be ‘active’ in up until about a year ago. Waiving a Gadsden flag at TP rally one or two times doesn’t make someone Sam Addams.
Bump
How quaint that they call castle a centrist.
Did the tea party back her?So you are calling them crazy as well?

You call this a ‘great point’, yet nothing that you have written proves that O’Donnell is not a Conservative. You assume that because you have questions about her personality that her political views are not solid... Well, if you have something of substance relating to the issues, I’m all ears.
And who are all these “scammers and nut jobs” who are supported after they “attend a few Tea Parties” and “proclaim themselves to be Conservative”? Is it...oh, wild guess...Sharron Angle? Hhmm, her voting record in NV seemed pretty darned Conservative to me. Or maybe that so-called ‘extremist’ Yale law grad Joe Miller? I want names...
“Did the tea party back her?So you are calling them crazy as well?”
That’s how I interpreted it, too.
TEA is not crazy, just woefully inadequate in the research of her before they endorsed her.
If they knew it and endorsed, then they are either stupid or crazy.
I love her, but this was a serious fubar on her sfatt's part.
>>> and you would rather see someone who will lord over us with their support for a liberal/socialistic agenda?
And nominating an unelectable conservative over a moderate Republican, thereby ensuring the election of a blue state liberal democrat to the US Senate and quite possibly killing a Republican take-over of the Senate will certainly impede “a liberal/socialistic agenda”.
Why didn’t I see this before.
Sarah’s people should have done much better due diligence.
I love Palin, but this and the Levi Johnson comeback were serious fubars on her research staff’s part.
