when Hiller launched into a deadly rage after she was suspended on Thursday - allegedly killing two co-workers and injuring a third - police said Ciarlante acted with a level of courage most people will never know.
Police said he followed Hiller as she marched through the plant, using a radio to inform colleagues of Hiller's whereabouts and the best way to escape.
"I just followed her until the boys in blue came up," Ciarlante said humbly.
When the cops arrived, he gave them a step-by-step description of the plant, down to the number of phones inside offices where Hiller could have been hiding.
Homeland Security Chief Inspector Joseph Sullivan said Ciarlante "saved lives, saved time," by keeping tabs on Hiller, while risking his own life. "Pretty cool under fire,"
Ciarlante said he was having a smoke break outside the Kraft building on Thursday when Hiller, clad in a Muslim headscarf and her Kraft uniform, walked by him, clutching her handgun.
He recognized Hiller as a fellow smoker and approached. "I said, 'You don't have to do this,' but she said, 'Get out of my way,' " Ciarlante said. "She was on a mission."

Allahu Akhbar!! with liptick on that pig
Some of the comments after the article are illustrative of a problem we face in the US. Some of the readers refuse to even acknowledge that this killer’s religion was pertinent to the story. They refuse to see the obvious - Islam is at war with America.
One coworker said that she was “a nice person”. I guess that would make her a “moderate” muslim.
Good Lord! look at this idiots comment....

Workplace conflict can build up over time. This woman had mental issues. I’ve no doubt these people ganged up on her. This should have been dealt with way way sooner by management. People need to show more respect for each other. This is the same thing that happens with kids in bullying.
I punch bullys in the nose.
All the tributes that this guy receives and has received will never compare to the quote from his 17 y/o son calling him “a hero in my heart”. Strong work!!!
Detain, incarcerate and/or deport ASAP!
Well, you have to give Ciarliante credit. Brave man. Good man.
As for the woman, it really does sound as if she was a complete fruitcake.
I don’t think this was an instance of Jihad. I think it may have been an instance of an angry woman who hated the world becoming a Muslim, because that was the religion that suited her best.
I noticed one comment after the article said that one of the people she killed was muslim.
Any more on this?
One commenter even expressed hope that her son would forgive the co-workers she murdered for bullying her. Problem is, the article didn't mention that she had a son, so how would the commenter know that if they didn't know the perp?
There was another comment that she was a BO drone, one of many Muslim drones planted around the country, but she was “defective” and detonated too early.
Hmmm, Kraft Plant in Pennsylvania ... do you think it was unionized? If so, then obviously the process to file a grievance was/is too complicated for this woman to follow, it obviously needs to be simplified before more deaths occur!
I didn’t see that directly mentioned in the article, but if you click through the pictures, # 3 of 13 shows victim Tanya Wilson in a headscarf. That’s probably where the commenter concluded this.
A bullet from a .357 Magnum torpedoed down a hallway inside the Kraft Foods plant on Thursday, right toward Dave Ciarlante's torso.
...
So he followed her, ducking every now and then behind pillars and walls while radioing her latest position. Eventually, police said, Hiller caught on and shot at him. "I got lucky," he said. "I just wanted to get people out there."
To do this even after being shot at is a level that I would hope to be able to do in a similar situation. I wonder if he is a vet?
On a different level, what are they teaching in Journalism School these days? "A bullet from a .357 Magnum torpedoed ..." Simmerin similies, Batman! Pulitzer writing this AIN'T!
Police said he followed Hiller as she marched through the plant, using a radio to inform colleagues of Hiller’s whereabouts and the best way to escape
To bad he didnt carry a conceled weapon on him, he could have stopped her dead in her tracks before she shot anyone.
Note, too, picture #5 of 13, showing the bigoted response of one of the white workers toward her black coworker. /s
Crazy comments .
