In an effort to cram as many people as possible into an airplane, a company from Italy called Aviointeriors, have created the Skyrider, which cuts passenger space down to just 23 inches.
The Skyrider seat is being unveiled next week at the Aircraft Interiors Expo Americas conference in Long Beach, and could soon find its way into many commercial airlines that are looking to save space.

My purse wouldn’t fit on that...let alone the rest of me, and I’m small.
In another 20-30 years, the airline industry will no longer exist. It was never an industry designed to operate with $100 a barrel oil and with the ongoing debasement of the US Dollar, oil will go north of $100 and stay there forever.
Well, LOL, they are sure going to have to impose weight restrictions. Just imagine the cries about bias against fat people. And...don’t the Italians have knees? If you are in any rows behind the first row...you must have to sit on your legs.
That is a torture chamber.
The knees are several inches lower than the hips in that position.
This looks uncomfortable for 5 minutes. Might as well install a bunch of handles to stand and hang on to. ;-)
Do the seats recline? That is a big problem with already limited room.
Better than those vertical seats the Japanese thought of. You STAND buckled in!!!!!
Are you watching Fox and Friends? Just saw this. This can’t be good for your knees. Or for claustrophobics (sp?)
I know I would prefer the straps of subways.
this is the outfit your looking for!!!
I believe that with the tray down she would be in the pefect position and look to be spoonfed Gerber Strained Peas for her in flight meal.
1) Cowboys were/are lean and tough
2) They usually were/are very saddle sore at the end of their days on horseback.
I never saw this thanks! Perhaps the airlines need to study how slaves were packed in to ships to save a buck. ;-)

Death rate too high.
Not completely unacceptable but just too high.
I’ve always wondered how they air ship horses, can I go with them? ;-)
Maybe people should be drugged into a coma then stacked like cord wood in the plane. At least, then, you wouldn’t be aware of the discomfort and humiliation. If carriers adopt this type of misguided people-packing, I guess my driving distance has to be over 12 hours before I fly. Sheesh!
Something tells me that Michelle Obama will not be the spokesperson for Skyrider seats.
Sounds like the seats in our new national airline - Air Obama.
