I'm a pretty good cook and love lots of odd, gourmet foods...truffles? Not so much. I bought some truffle oil to make a pasta dish with and was NOT impressed. Made it taste musty. Could be my inner peasant revolting. Funny, I figured I'd love it since I like every other weird, expensive thing I've tried. I'm sure it's an acquired taste...but for me, I think I'll save the $170 and buy some nice Italian fontina and a warm loaf of french bread.

Instead of truffles, just go outside and get some dirt. They both smell about the same and dirt is a lot cheaper.
