guarantee the General said that because he was told by his commander in chief .

about this putting our troops in harms way, when I asked my mate who called me the other night from Kabul I asked him about this and he laughed and said we’re in a war , we get shot at, IED’s etc how much more danger can we be in.

The whole troops in harms way is a rat ploy to shut people up and some on the right like boring broken record Hannity has fell for it sadly.

bozo today said we have to be tolerant and yet when addressing muslims he tells them that islam is tolerant.

The down fall of this country is the media, just look at the fools in this video saying come on what is your name , man up, are you afraid of muslims getting to you.

What utter crap they are, infact they’re nothing but scum bags who live in their upper class elitist world and have nom idea how the middle of America think or want.

They lied to get their messiah elected, they lie about islam and the muslims, they even go as far as saying as islam is a religion of peace, hell it’s not even a religion.

I agree. Awesome in a look at how stupid and childish I can be...sort of way.

I agree. Stupid in a he-didn't-cite-the-109-passages-of-violence...sort of way.

I agree that it is uncivil, but I also think it’s called for. Why? Because those of us who think we have a problem with Muslims are sick and tired of being told to “be nice,” in the face of all kinds of provocation from Muzzies, by people like Obama and the rest of the liberals.

I’m mad as Hell, and I’m not going to take it any more. Cordoba House was the last straw for me, so let them have a taste. Call me barbarian if you will, but I’d argue you are way out of proportion, considering what their side does to our people. I burned a Koran (pic upthread), they burn people. If this doesn’t stop, we’re going to have to start burning people, a lot of them, before this is done.

“A mob is a terrible thing, and I think it’s about time we had one!”

Not that anyone here will listen, but symbolic gestures like burning a Koran only stir a hornets’ nest like the jihadists. It reinforces their stereotypes about us and helps them dupe the next generation of fools they recruit to their cause. Notice it is never the leaders that strap on the bombs but some foolish brainwashed sucker. People here have every right to burn books they own - that still doesn’t make it prudent. Please tell me - what positive result will come of it???

Pity. I would rather it remained so posters get a larger picture of its author. Just as well.

The hornets nest was stirred long ago, why do you think the West has suffered so many terrorists attacks by Muslims in the past few decades? Koran burning is not going add to the hostility, only reveal it.

The fact is, koran burning or not, we are heading for a showdown with Islam that cannot be avoided by cowtowing to them, or tolerating them all the while they do not tolerate us. The Koran burning just speeds us faster to the inevitable showdown. That can be either a bad thing or a good thing depending on your view point.

Islam hates the West, they always will, no matter what we do short of surrendering to them. That is reality and cannot be changed by whining about koran burning.

You can’t be serious! How can burning a Koran “cleanse the gene pool of angry Muslims?” No way. Indeed it will increase the number of angry Muslims by reinforcing their stereotypes about us.

What needs to happen (if we are to begin to preserve all of Western Civilization) is that people need to understand that islam is NOT a religion at all. It uses a thin religious veneer for two purposes:
1. It masks the core of sharia which is a total governmental, societal, cultural and militaristic construct with the clearly stated goal of world domination. Hiding all of this behind the name of "religion" allows them to claim "religious freedoms" and governmental protections as it operates inside of Western liberal democracies to destroy them.
2. It whips its adherents into a frenzy that ultimately leads to violent and destructive acts.

The sooner that we can get a majority of people in Western Civilization to refuse the pretense that this EVIL is a "religion" of any sort, the sooner we can get people to stop protecting it and start fighting it. If a reasonable person is confronted with the tenets of sharia without that thin veneer of "religion" masking its true identity and purpose, they would immediately recoil at its horror.

Veneers are always used to make something look different; quite often in woodworking they are used to mask cheap underlays or unattractive species. They can make a plywood box appear to be constructed from Mahogany boards! Same thing here, the veneer of "religion" is simply masking a death cult that wants all of us dead (or at a minimum, serving them from a position of submission).

People need to stop using the word "religion" when referring to islam and need to stop referring to their crap sandwich of a book as a "sacred text."

I’d rather their stereotype of us were this, than it be we’re a nation of wimps all cast in the mold of Jimmy Carter, which what it’s been since that sorry administration. They would respect us more.

I think he meant, identify the angry Muslims. The cleansing of the gene pool would then ideally follow identification.

I don't know what it is with some "Freepers" on here that are so hell bent on not "offending" a "religion" that will stone a woman to death after she gets raped, yet lets her rapist attacker go free. Islam is a cult of death and it should be offended daily.

AMEN! Many well-meaning people, Palin included, think that offending Islam for the mere sake of offending it (which in itself is not the reason -- the reason for offending it is to chase its dangerous presence from our midst) is unChristian. I think an argument can be made that in fact, Christians have a duty to stand post and ostracize it. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and "Love your fellow man" are vital instructions, the most important the Bible has to offer. Ostracizing Islam, offending it, is well within keeping of those commandments. I would rather Islam merely burn symbols and engage in peaceful, bloodless rejection of Christianity in its own societies, and that's all that's going on here. So by burning a Koran, I AM doing unto Islam what I would have it do unto me: keeping it symbolic and peaceful.

How can burning a Koran “cleanse the gene pool of angry Muslims?”

By drawing the cockroaches out into the open where we can smack them. There are too many who harbor a secret hate for us, and this doesn't cause it, it reveals what is already there below the surface.

If I were to do something, it would be things that would only be considered offensive to Muslims, while the rest of us would find them perfectly reasonable.

For example, showing a picture of the Koran on a shelf, UNDER a Bible and a Torah.

Or propped open (as if being read), sitting on a bare floor next to a chair. Most people do that all the time to books, when they get up to go to the bathroom, but it apparently is offensive to some muslims.

Or simply sitting in a bathroom, like one of those books you like to read while doing your business. I have to think that would be offensive, even though I’ve seen lots of bibles sitting in bathrooms to be read.

But I’m not really looking to offend people by mistreating a Koran. I’d rather offend them by converting a muslim and baptising them publicly. I’m sure that would get our troops endangered as well, but I can’t imagine General Petraeus telling a Pastor not to baptise muslims on 9/11 because it would make muslims upset and make the job of our troops harder.
