BUSH THROWS STRIKE AT YANKEE STADIUM AFTER 9/11
It was a time when we came together as a nation. A time before the Democrats played politics at the expense of our national security. The traitors among us gave aid and comfort to the enemy.
“I didn't want people to think their President was incapable of finding the plate.”
This makes me smile.
Very nice, thanks for posting. I am thankful for Pres Bush’s resolve after 9/11 - thank God it was him and not Gore.
He was the Man for the Time and handled every day with Class. I do miss him.
Me too. God bless President Bush for standing strong!
President Bush continues to show grace under pressure. I think that’s called courage.
He has never pranced about (like Clinton & Carter) - showing disrespect for his successor in the WH. The comparisons are stunning.
With his quiet and rare appearances, everyone is being reminded of how he treated his office with dignity and humility.
His subtlety will surely help GOP candidates, without actually campaigning on their behalf. So much more effective than the Clintoons.
Great post DFU.
Been a while, good to see you here!
check out some of the other videos- “President Bush bullhorn speech from ground zero” and “President Bush visits ground zero one year later”....
my gosh- that leadership compared to the child presently in the WH...
What a wonderful tribute to the United States of America. Play ball!
I say our next candidate has to be able to pitch a strike. :)
BTTT
What I’d give to have that kind of leadership again.
Standing on a pile of rubble with a bullhorn.
No teleprompter.
Who would have dreamed that 9 years later we have a President who is incapable of finding the whole damned ballpark?
Thanks for posting this - it really captures a moment in time.
I remember at the time people were nervous about gathering in places like stadiums so soon after 9/11.
Seeing Pres. Bush go fearlessly into the crowd to throw a strike filled many with assurance that everything would be all right. And it was while we had a capable leader.

Thank Doug From Upland -— it is his post.
And while I’m at it, thank you Doug for mentioning FreeRepubilc when you were on the air with George Putnam back in the 90s. I found FR then and have been “hooked” ever since.
Thanks, Ron. I am working way more hours than ever before to survive the Obamaconomy.
I miss George. He led quite a life and had me in studio three times.
At least be able to make it TO the plate...http://nbcsportsmedia.msnbc.com/j/apmegasports/200907142010726188441-pf.widec.jpg
