You aren’t the only one. We have been looking for a cheap third car and absolutely won’t buy one with the prices out there now.
Cash For Clunkers resulted in good used cars destroyed to prop up Unions and now we pay for it.

A friend of mine had his truck stolen and was looking for another vehicle. We visited a lot of car lots and it was the same story over and over..The trucks (small S-10 Ford Ranger type ) were about $2,000.00 more than actual value! Many used car owners had very little inventory and were waiting to buy more cars because the profit margin was so low on the used cars they could get. One used car dealer ship owner said “People don't realize they are going to have to pay taxes on the money they got from cash for clunkers” I talked with another used car lot owner and he told me that the government STILL hadn't payed some of the dealerships and they were hanging onto titles until they got the government money. I talked with a fellow who owns a body shop and said his business fell off because cash for clunkers. People traded in their cars instead of repairing them! The Chris, the body shop owner said that the owner of an auto recovery business down the street is booming because people bought more car than they could afford or have now lost jobs and can't keep up with payments! If you think cash for clunkers is good wait until health care reform goes into action...BWAHAHAHAHAHA
