Why has the press refused to address the fact that there is no separation of church and state in Muslim countries, which makes the Mosque not only a holy building but a political structure? Inconvenient, perhaps?

I still don’t see how exercising the right to build a mosque at ground zero is any different from exercising the right to burn a koran. Both are legal but horribly offensive, provacative and meant to offend. It’s only OK if one is on the side of the jihadists.

We need to impeach this marxist, muslim homo pos, try him for treason and bring him to justice.

This SOB supports the 9/11 victory mosque and yet he has a problem with a group of private citizens engaging in a private function on private property.

We have a Mooselimb supporting if not actual Mooselimb president. He is horrible. His ultimate goal is to see the downfall of our way of life. America has made a terrible error in judgment electing this guy.

How can Hussein 0bama not support the Fla pastor’s right to “free speech” in the form of burning a koran?
He supports American values when those values promote the domination of islam over those same American values. How, seriously, can the media and 0bama not treat the two situations the same?
However they treat the issues - it is preposterous and shameful that our “president” is not treating them even similarly.
The media is just farking useless. I know we’ve all known this forever - but just damn.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the SOB uses Federal $$ to bankroll this project. After the election, of course.

He could end all this if he chose to. All he would have to do is “eminent domain” and it is done. For some reason he is chosing to let this continue. Perhaps he IS muslim.

As opposed to his imitation of a sleep-walker when discussing the pitiful economy, BO was uncharacteristically animated when defending the Muslim’s planned victory mosque at yesterday’s “news” conference. (Only 10 questions answered in 70 minutes isn’t much “news.”)
Of course, none of the press dim bulbs asked him why St. Nicolas Greek Orthodox Church was refused permission to rebuild its church destroyed on 9/11 at ground zero.
Not one stone should be laid for the victory mosque until the ungodly powers in charge in NYC give permission for that Christian church to be rebuilt.

I’ll bet $10 Obama attends the first services at the Mosque and attends at least 3 times afterward before he leaves office.

" In Islam, every structure linked to the faith and its rituals has a precise function and character.
A mosque is a one-story gallery built around an atrium with a mihrab (a niche pointing to Mecca)
and one, or in the case of Shiites two, minarets.
This 13-story multifunctional structure couldn't be any of the above.
The groups fighting for the project know this; this is why they sometimes call it an Islamic cultural center.
But there is no such thing as an Islamic culture.
The Prophet imposed his rule on parts of Arabia through a series of ghazvas, or razzias (the origin of the English word "raid").
The ghazva was designed to terrorize the infidels, convince them that their civilization was doomed and force them to submit
to Islamic rule. Those who participated in the ghazva were known as the ghazis, or raiders.
After each ghazva, the Prophet ordered the creation of a rabat -- or a point of contact at the heart of the infidel territory raided.
The rabat consisted of an area for prayer, a section for the raiders to eat and rest and facilities to train and prepare
for future razzias. Later Muslim rulers used the tactic of ghazva to conquer territory in the Persian and Byzantine empires.
After each raid, they built a rabat to prepare for the next razzia.
It is no coincidence that Islamists routinely use the term ghazva to describe the 9/11 attacks against New York and Washington.
The terrorists who carried out the attack are referred to as ghazis or shahids (martyrs).
Thus, building a rabat close to Ground Zero would be in accordance with a tradition started by the Prophet.
To all those who believe and hope that the 9/11 ghazva would lead to the destruction of the American "Great Satan,"
this would be of great symbolic value."

Imam Rauf could stop all this with one sentence:
‘I had not realized how upsetting this would become so, in the interest of being sensitive to those in my adopted country and looking to build bridges with Americans, I have decided to choose another location for our mosque’
It can only defuse the situation if he himself decides to move the mosque. But he won’t. Because it’s really all about constructing a building on the site of a great victory for Muslims. We are not stupid. We won’t be fooled again.

so basically...I can pick something , say smoking, call it my religion and there is nothing they can do about it? I can open a building and let everyone smoke all day long and the government will support me 100%? what about perverts...call it a religion and our government will let you practice it right next door to a school because its your right?

I think we should let them spend the money and build the mosque. Then late at night when nobody is around fly a drone into it. And then the next day everybody dance in the streets like all the Muslims did after 9/11.

What!?!?!
You mean the current landownder, the bank from whom the loan is sought AND the Zoning Commission don't get a say in whether this Mosque is built?
