South Carolina Republican Jim DeMint is bucking his partys establishment yet again, endorsing two insurgent Senate picks just ahead of their competitive primaries Tuesday.
In a series of late Friday night tweets, the conservative senator announced he was supporting Senate candidates Christine ODonnell in Delaware and Ovide Lamontagne in New Hampshire.
Both GOP hopefuls face primaries against better-knownand better-fundedRepublicans, but have also been working to coalesce conservative support in the final leg of their campaigns.
I'm proud to endorse Christine O'Donnell for U.S. Senate in Delaware. She will stand strong for the principles of freedom, DeMint tweeted. ODonnell, a conservative activist and two-time Senate candidate, also picked up an endorsement from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday, and the Tea Party Express is also spending heavily, hoping the two-time Senate candidate can upset the moderate Mike Castle, the states popular congressman and a former governor.

You are in agreement with Sarah Palin!!!!!!!!
Maybe there’s hope for you yet.
You mean Palin is 1/2 in agreement with me. I’ve been on O’Donnell’s bandwagon from day 1. Same with Lamontague. Unfortunately, Palin picked a worthless RINO in NH over Lamontague
The Senate desperately needs these two conservatives.
No doubt there my FRiend. We will need alot more to clean the pos rinos out of the senate.
JD Hayworth was a RINO.
“Palin picked a worthless RINO in NH over Lamontague”
We need to be careful how we use this word “RINO.” Though Lamontague is more conservative and a better pick, Kelly Ayotte is hardly a RINO.
RINO should be reserved for people like Mike Castle, the Maine sisters, Arlen Specter, etc. These are people we can’t rely on and will vote against us at least as often as voting with us, probably more.
Then there are “moderates” like Mclame, Grahmnesty, Murkowski, and maybe Ayotte is in this category. These are people that will vote with us 75% of the time or more but will really piss us off sometimes when they “reach across the aisle” in the name of “bipartisanship.”
Still, this second group is far more tolerable than the first group. Bottom line is I can put up with moderates, especially from purple or blue states. So, I really wouldn’t have a huge problem with Ayotte.
On the other hand, RINOS are unacceptable no matter where they come from, because they destroy our party brand by continually backstabbing us and they are totally unreliable. This is why in DE I’d rather lose with O’Donnell than win with Castle, cause having Castle is really no better than having a Democrat in that seat.
Good call by DeMint. I think his endorsement average is better than a former governor of a western state
Then there are moderates like Mclame, Grahmnesty, Murkowski
You think these RINOs are moderates! Yikes. That’s like calling MSNBC moderate. No wonder the GOP is slipping
