The Jezebel did not have sex with herself. The man was not forced to have sex. Was he raped? Was he blackmailed into sex? Unbelievable. Look, I heard a story about a woman who got a judgment against the gal who was having an affair with her husband AFTER the husband put a halt to it. The sleaze kept calling him and pursuing him and virtually stalking him. Now that scenario made sense to me. From what I gather, this was not the case here. I don’t know details of the case but I have never ever been able to figure out why the woman gets the blame. So, if a man pursues me while I am married and I cheat on my husband, is it the man’s fault or mine? Sheesh. People need to be held accountable for their actions. I have never heard of a case where an adulterer was forced into adultery. EVER.

First, I certainly don’t think the guy is any kind of innocent. Second, my point would work whether it was a tart interfering with the husband, or the milkman interfering with the wife.

Adultery is bad enough, and it is less likely to happen if there are enforced penalties against those who approach marriages and break them up.

It is also understood that there is a special onus on those who initiate the temptation. The tort is on the books, the perpetrator of the tort is found liable, and the only innocent party gets compensated by one of the guilty parties. It would probably do no good to fine the fellow who is guilty as well, since he is supposed to be supporting the household in the first place.
