Chokehold hero thwarts bank gunman.
He sure didn't bank on this.
An armed thug's robbery of a Wisconsin bank was foiled in a matter of seconds by a hulking good Samaritan who sprang into action and put him in a sleeper hold.
The heroic customer, and apparent WWE fan, was so tenacious that he hopped onto the punk's back as he tried to run away.
"He just reacted. He didn't even realize he reacted until it was all over," St. Francis Police Detective Kevin Weins told The Post.
"He did what he thought was right. He said he didn't even think about it."
Wearing a blue bandanna over his face, sunglasses and a fedora, the would-be thief had barged into the Associated Bank in St. Francis at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday and whipped out a semiautomatic pistol.

Michael Jackson Lives!!
That is DANGEROUS.
He had a GUN. Lucky he was too stupid or to scared to use it.
It doesn’t take much to just turn the gun and little and squeeze off a round.
Guess he wasn't such a 'Smooth Criminal.'

Shamone!
Yep. He was lucky.
It was such a poor move this Good Samaritan has a good chance of being sued for SOMETHING. Everyone was lucky that gunman didn’t fire.
Nice to see that not everyone is a pussy....
Exactly
Cannot blame him without casting aspersions on myself. I grabbed somoene trying to steal my car. While he didn't have a firearm, he had a major league screwdriver. Luckily he dropped it. Like this guy I or unlike this guy since he was unsuccessful, I subdued the perp instead of beating him down. Had this guy the opportunity to do again, or think about it first, he probably wouldn't do it the same way. He probably should of just clocked him hard to the back of the head or neck rather than trying to subdue him.
My girlfriend, who fires competition pistol with the .45 automatic, says she would have come up behind the perp with something heavy and laid it hard across his skull.
REAL hard and on his FOREARM.
Remove the gun from the event and the odds are in your favor.
But like he himself said, he didn’t think... he just DID it.
Yeah. Not a great idea to put a sleeper hold on someone point a gun at the teller.
I applaud the guy for stopping this but this could have turned out badly.
This guy could have snapped his neck. He looks like a strong mo-fo.

"...He probably should of just clocked him hard to the back of the head or neck rather than trying to subdue him..."
Agreed.
And it would likely have been an adrenalized punch that would likely have put the thug's lights out for a few minutes.
Pretty farking stupid.
Lucky the teller wasnt shot.
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away when I was a working musician I had the unfortunate experience of coming back from a bathroom break while playing at a biker bar and walking up behind some nutcase waving a shotgun around claiming he was going to waste everyone.
I was trapped behind him with no exit but he had no idea whatsoever that I was behind him. One of the bikers trying to talk this guy down kept pointing behind me ( I was froze in place being I was only 20 and never encountered such a situation) I looked where he was pointing which was at a rack of pool cues.
I nodded back grabbed the pool cue and hammered the guy over the head and he hit the ground like a bag of wet cement. The bikers ran up grabbed the gun and unloaded it (Sawed off double barrel) and then drug the idiot outside. Someone had called the police.
No one could remember how the idiot got a large bloody bump on his noggin. They questioned a good many people but never talked to any of us in the band. So they took the idiot and the gun and left.
I never had to buy a drink in that bar again. Of course I never told any of those guys that I needed a change of underwear and about 5 Valiums since I had to hide my hands cause they shook like Michelle's back porch (Hard to play keyboards with shaky hands...)
It COULD have been dangerous...except many times, robbers have unloaded handguns, because it’s a lesser sentence if they’re caught.
Obviously, the Samaritan didn’t know if it was loaded or not, and potentially put the teller in danger.
