This reminds of an incident a number of decades ago when 1/2 dozen derelicts and a few girlfriends had driven about 20 miles out of town to go target shooting.
After about an hour or so of plinking away, a sheriff pulled up, and asked us to put the guns down and step away from the guns and vehicles, and we complied.
The sheriff explained that the area had never been a designated shooting area, and though he knew folks had used it as such for years w/o any problems, he was directed to chase us out of there with threats of huge fines and oh btw he needed to search us and our vehicles before he let us go.
He was just about done, when he pulled a pill bottle full of leafy green substance (this was pre bud days, you know, drum brakes, no shoulder harness, airbags or starboard side mirrors, not to mention automatic lights & wipers...) from my buddy's truck.
His girlfriend was suddenly afflicted by a gigantic case of the hedidits, and everyone was so amused at her theatrics that nobody seemed upset that she'd been holding out on us. During a brief lull in her finger pointing, the Sheriff again asked her point blank if the green he found in her purse belonged to her, and once again she was vehement in her denial.
"So why does it have your name on it!?" the Sheriff demanded as he held the pill bottle out and pointed to the Rx label with her name on it.
I swear the blood drained from her face so fast I thought she was going to grow fangs and flutter away, while the Sheriff was on the verge of losing his composure to the same group guffaws that had us weak at the knees, and left before it was too obvious.
Some people will say the strangest things when they think they're in trouble.
I’d like say something about this, offer an opinion. But I would come across as a bloodthirsty barbarian. While I am a bloodthirsty barbarian, no use hacking the same dead horse to even smaller pieces.
I have it on good authority the Holmes has retained one of the top civilian law firms-military defense lawyers.
I also heard there is a good possibility some of this is may be true. Think Kurtz from Apocalypse Now. But hopefully, one of these days, a seeming miracle will occur. In this topsy turvy world, SH!+ WILL RUN UPHILL.
