CNN Money ^ | 9/9/10 | Les Christie

Nearly half of all Americans who claimed the first-time homebuyer tax credit on their 2009 tax returns will have to repay the government... The confusion comes because homebuyers were eligible for two different credits, depending on when their homes were purchased... Now, the IRS is developing a strategy for separating the 2009 taxpayers who are required to repay the credit from those who are not.

Another excellent job of communicating by the government. I love the, “We messed up, you pay,” outcome and am very hopeful about healthcare.

As a Realtor, I worked with a lot of these midget brains that had to “have a house before I miss out on my 8K”! I let them know that a lot of these people were going to be audited. “So. I don’t make enough to worry about it”. I told some that the 8K was just recycled money out of tax payers pockets. They looked at me blankly.

Maybe this will change the tune of some of these idiots come November. There’s no such thing as a free lunch.

The way this reads is that if someone purchased a home and put down “2009” there would be no questions asked.

It’s real simple. All they had to do was make the “buyer’s” file the old fashioned way and provide the closing documents. Of course, that’s TOO simple for the government.

I would like to point out that it was W who gave the home buyers a loan. (Thanks a lot.) It was O who gave buyers a rebate of the taxes the buyers had PAID in over the years.

ObamaCare IRS Officer: I’m sorry, Mr. American Citizen, but it appears we erred when we allowed you that heart transplant. Please report to your local IRS office for extraction immediately.

UN BELIEVABLE..There is nothing this government can do correctly. My husband gets his medication from the VA mailed to him. EVERY SINGLE TIME for the last five years he renews, they screw it up. I am so fearful for this country.

There will be hundreds of accountants that never had these type of clients, until now. Look for CPAs to win big as they handle the 950,000 new clients. Govt introducing complexity beyond the norm to force citizens over their head.

I got a rebate of $8,000. It was my money that was returned to me. The only thing wrong with that is everyone should be getting rebates. But as a conservative anytime the government hands out REBATES is a good thing.
