Obama does not use Jones’ name, but argues that the plan by “this individual” to burn Qurans is not only contrary to the American ideal, but threatens the lives of soldiers in Muslim countries. The president also suggests that the media is more responsible for making Jones a global figure — “I hardly think we’re the ones who elevated this story,” the president says. (a shot fired back at the media)
