In a bold move that is likely to be much discussed in coming days, Fox News said today that it will not cover the burning of the Quran on Saturday if Pastor Terry Jones follows through on his plan to burn copies of Islam's sacred book.
The proposed book burning by the Florida minister and his congregation has become a topic of heated conversation and coverage with everyone from President Barack Obama to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and two generals weighing in.

Wimps, the AP says they won’t cover it either, but, they forget that people have cellphone cameras and can upload pics to youtube where millions and millions of people will see them.

I think burning the Koran is improper and will only inflame Muslims overseas (and our soldiers will be their targets). Yet burning the Koran is news. How can Fox not cover it?
No matter, CNN will broadcast it. MSNBC will loops it, and innocents abroad will suffer the consequences.

If it was a widespread national movement it would be newsworthy.
But giving one or two pastors an international platform for book-burning? Ridiculous.
Good for FOX news.

Mustn’t offend the effdendis. Muslims burning Bibles, American flags or Americans is apparently OK..

No need for the media to cover a 50-member church. It’s just some folks getting together to immolate some of their own property and make a statement. It’s the Muslim supporters who want to make a big thing out of it for their own purposes.

Perhaps they’re worried about their soldiers overseas as well.

If the pastor was wise, he would hold a presser to say “I don't plan to burn any Korans because my point has already been made. All I had to to do was mention it, and the entire Muslim world went into an uproar, and our own government showed their true colors. This clearly illustrates the difference between Christianity and Islam and how the world treats each one.”

How can Fox not cover it? They have been covering the story. I don't think it's a big enough story where we need live coverage and 24X7 commentary on it.
