The Old Testament shows God commanding the Hebrews to war in specific times and places, but He does not give them a continuing mandate.

The New Testament does not command war.

The Koran commands war until the whole world submits to Islam.

Very true. Another difference is that in the OT, God is commanding the nation if Israel through their government. He never sanctioned religious vigilantism.
