Yes, he will be in a better postion, given that the ROE allow him to actually defend himself and fellow soldiers. I’m not sure if the ROE in Afghanistan and Iraq are still the same, but soldiers were being required to verify that the enemy had a firearm in their hands before being able to fire upon them. The enemy caught on quickly, and would fire off a volley of rounds, and then ditch their weapons before our soldiers could react. After not being able to return fire, out soldiers would return to routine actions, only to be fired upon again. The leadership of this country is guilty of the deaths of every soldier since Jan 20, 2009.
