WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is exhorting a Florida minister to "listen to those better angels" and call off his plan to engage in a Quran-burning protest this weekend.
Obama told ABC's "Good Morning America" in an interview aired Thursday that he hopes the Rev. Terry Jones of Florida listens to the pleas of people who have asked him to call off the plan. The president called it a "stunt."

Lose-lose situation with this guy. If he listens, Zero and his pan-arab friends score one. If he doesn’t, everybody looks silly gaining almost zilch in return. I’m somewhat hoping for some kind of miraculous third way out.
I read somewhere that this guy was in tight with Westboro Baptist (not sure if that's true).
If so, he very well may be a big fan of Barry. Remember, being a liberal democrat means none of your positions on anything need to make any sense.

He seems much more upset over the Koran burning than he was over the WikiLeaks.
Yeah, like the guy will just change his mind and not do it, or someone in his congregation will convince him that it’s a stupid thing to do.
The thing that is holding it back is that the kook calling for it is sympathetic to the Westboro people.
It’s an issue when Tele-POTUS starts supporting trips for the Imam and not buying Korans for the Dove Church bonfire. There’s a support of Religion over another.
Maybe Jones should declare a truce and not burn the korans if Rauf moves the site of the Ground Zero mosque at least several blocks away.
Book burning has already been done... it’s so old fashion.
Shred the Quran and toss it into the pigpen. The pigs will eat it and crap on it.
Heck, this might even start a new product line, “ Quran feed pigs”..... even better than organic.
That is exactly what it is....and that is exactly what the "Victory" Mosque is as well...a childish, immature, "I've got my gonads on top" teenage stunt that would have been better played out a thousand or more years ago when the world was a trash heap.
Good point, and I wasn't aware of that re: our military, and it greatly upsets me, to be quite honest.
President Obama is so cliche. “Listen to those better angels?” Maybe better angels aren’t talking to this preacher in Florida. Does President Obama hear from “better angels?” What are “better angels?” Why didn’t GMA ask the president to clarify?

I don’t see how that’s relevant. We can’t condemn the Imam for his ties to Hamas.
It’s time to say we have a First Amendment or we Don’t.
Nutcase or not, Tele-POTUS shouldn’t be picking which offensive behaviors by religions are proper.
