More mosque murk

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has finally bro ken his silence about the $100 million mosque he wants to build in the shadow of Ground Zero.

But his op-ed article in The New York Times didn't clear up much.

Rauf says that Cordoba House -- as it apparently has now been rebranded from Park51 -- will "clearly identify all of [its] financial backers."

But when?

The imam pledges to "seek the support of [9/11] families."

But what took so long, when it was their opposition that prompted public outrage over the project?

And then there are the issues raised in just the past few days about the mosque's developer, Sharif el-Gamal.

As The Post's Tom Topousis and Matthew Nestel reported Tuesday, Gamal has racked up thousands in fines for safety and construction violations at a Washington Heights apartment building he owns.

Indeed, inspectors have issued five stop-work orders on the building in the past two years -- and, most disturbingly, later cited his firm for blatantly ignoring one of those orders.

There ... I've said it again.

See how easy it is.

Gee, maybe as an example of outreach and tolerance US taxpayers and families of the 9/11 victims in particular could pay for the mosque...or would that be construed by far right bigots and haters as too much like paying for the bullet that kills you. I caught part of the slumlord imam’s interview on CNN last night and it sounded suspiciously like a not so veiled threat: The mosque, (community center, pardon me), gets built or we’ll see much more violence. The interviewer, Soledad O’Brien, seemed to think the quid pro quo was in order. And frankly this is eerily like what a friend of mine said about Israel and Palestinians. Just sit down and bargain, find out what they want and give it to them. Then everything’s hunky dory. This friend is a Jewish oral surgeon who, of course, voted for Obama. It’s Springtime for Hitler all over again.

"(The GroundZero Mosque) cleared its final hurdle ….
developers plan to build the $100 million center which will include a mosque.
Since its incipient stages in July 2009, when a Muslim-run real-estate development
company purchased the damaged, vacant building and land where the new center
will be built, the project has sparked controversy and debate.
.... the tattered building that was bought by the Muslim real estate company had
been owned by a subsidiary of Bain Capital, a company Romney founded in 1984.

So it’s OK if his company can profit off the sale of the land ."

IMHO, the real problem isn’t with building the mosque, but instead is closer to whatever the source is for American advocates who condone and argue for its construction. There is a very mentally sick agenda ongoing, of which we are only glimpsing the tip of the burg.

Build the mosque or suffer violence? I got news for this imam jerk: Build it and you don’t have a clue what violence is. You will start a civil war in this country from Americans who are fed up with this crap.
