Former President George W. Bush will be speaking at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum on Nov. 18.
As part of the librarys Perspective on Leadership Forum, Bush will be discussing his memoir Decision Points, which brings readers inside the Texas governors mansion on the night of the hotly contested 2000 election, and aboard Air Force One on 9/11 in the hours after the attack on the World Trade Center Towers.
The book also goes into detail about Bush at the head of the table in the Situation Room in the moments before launching the war in Iraq, and at the Oval Office during controversial decisions on the financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina and other notable events.

It's an extremely safe assumption. His administration routed terror cells throughout this country and all over the world for seven years.
Your appeal to logic is moronic.
Or is that "R-E-T-A-R-D?" LOL.
I should have figured this was a retread. Probably been banned a number of times as a troll and keeps reincarnating himself.
Whoever he is, he lies BIG time, says incredibly stupid things, and makes personally abusive, albeit goofy insults.... and he's a really, really bad judge of character to boot.
President Bush should be honored to have such a bad egg hate him........and we should too. :)
Sorry if I rubbed your fur the wrong way, however logic is not moronic. It allows one to determine if a proposition is true or false and even if it can be determined to be true or false. Powerful stuff that you cannot disprove so you launch a personal attack. You have a very strange idea of how to conduct a discussion. I will accept your assertion if you can provide me with a list of the terrorist attacks that did not happen under GWB's administration. If you can't there is only one moron in this discussion and it ain't me.
I repeat: Your appeal to logic is moronic.
I will accept your assertion if you can provide me with a list of the terrorist attacks that did not happen under GWB's administration. If you can't there is only one moron in this discussion and it ain't me.
Happy reading, genius.

Yeah, I’m getting that impression too. I tried to use a little humor, maybe a little sarcasm, some pity, etc.. I’d heard during the last election that some people from Obama’s election committee were going on conservative sites and stirring up trouble. They were supposed to pretend to be “real conservatives”, and to argue with people!
However, there were a large number of people back in the late 90s who were really unpleasant when talking about George W. Bush, and RINOs in general. I’d thought that “Cheat” was one of them from back then. It seems lately that a lot of these people have come back in some way w/new user names. There are some new names too with recent sign-ups.
They say that they thought “Bush-bots” were all gone. That’s why it was my impression that it was some of them. I don’t understand why the moderators are not going after some of them like they did for awhile. This one is a real stinker! He/she whatever, was acting crazy; using a lot of LOLs, RINO, etc.. That’s why I told “Cheet” that he was talking crazy, needed help, and I pitied him.
I tried, like you, to reason with him/her (you said it was a him), and asked them why they voted twice for GWB if they had such an ugly opinion of him. He didn’t answer me, but threw my question right back in my face. There are a number of these people like him, that do that! Then I finally just told him that to argue with him (because of the LOLs, upper caps, wild talk..)would be taking advantage of a hysterical, mad person and that would not be nice! ;*)
I, however, would be embarrassed if I had argued that President Bush had not protected us from terrorist attacks for 7 years. It reveals a significant lack of information on Gandalf's part to have made that assessment.
I would not call him a 'moron.' Just grossly ignorant.......and most likely deliberately so.
I'm sure that there were a lot of Obama trolls who signed on in 2008, and this nutcase is probably one of them, or maybe a Clinton retread.
Note that he said the 'only conservative thing Bush did was tax cuts.' Now NO actual conservative would ever say that, because ALL conservatives, whether they hate Bush or not, acknowledge that his judicial choices were conservative (well, they still mention Miers, but that just makes them look silly, so they stop eventually).
This guy picked immigration as his theme. There was no 'discussion.' Just absurd name-calling and extremist nonsense, as though he was literally deranged and not just Bush deranged. The rantings of a lunatic.
Actually, dsutah, I feel sorry for BDS'ers these days. President Bush's popularity is rising exponentially because the dust of the media hatred for him has settled, the extremist leftist in the WH is making even some hardcore haters here acknowledge that President Bush was a man of integrity and loved this country, and the insane ones have no place for their rage to go.
There's a lot of flailing going on from BDS'ers. They post silly photoshops, they say stupid things, they insert themselves awkwardly and nonsensically on any positive thread about the President, and they make fools of themselves all over the place.
The wiser among them has moved on to focusing the rage on the Marxist in the White House, but these poor schleps have no constructive outlet for their irrational rage, so they get more irrational.
Whether this guy is a Clinton troll, an Obama troll, or a mentally deranged pseudo-con, he is to be pitied.
Oh, btw, the last resort of a BDS'er when confronted with the reality of the traitor Obama is that "Bush gave us Obama." It's the biggest crock of hooey ever invented. There were a thousand historical reasons for Obama's election. George W. Bush isn't even among the reasons, let alone the central reason. It's a sign of pure desperation to blame Obama on Bush.
The whole lot is just sad, that's all.
Neither would I.
A most impressive list from which I can extract that the FBI was doing what it is charged with doing. I agree that GWB did a fine job of protecting the country. I also agree that we did destabilize al-Qaâida by fighting an aggressive war on their territory and not ours, which is always the best way.
However, I still argue that "terrorist plots" could be just chatter, designed to keep us guessing, or dilute our resources, or make us jumpy, or cancel our civil rights. You can not make a flat statement that one man "kept us safe" when it could just as well been lack of money, somebody chickened out, it was canceled because you can't buy nuclear materials at Walmart, or it was never intended to advance in the first place. There is no way to assign a cause to a non event because it did not happen.
Having said that, I think it time to say we agree to disagree. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if it defies logic.
Regards,
GtG
PS I am neither a moron, nor ignorant. Just fussy about errors in logic.
What post were you reading? All I said was that you were lacking information to make the assessment that President Bush hadn't kept us safe, and I stand by it.
I called you no names. Please try to be accurate, as my post to you was entirely civil.
Thanks.
Big difference there. My apology, Chunga.
It appears that neither of us called him any names, and yet he somehow thought we had (or at least thought I had, even though I was defending him against what I mistakenly thought you had said).
Sometimes things just don't make any sense. This is one of those times.....
So on that point, as well as your assessment of who it was who kept us safe while we were indeed being kept safe, we will have to 'agree to disagree.'
Thanks. :)
Just one of those days I suppose. If I had it to do all over again I'd not even make my first post. As it turns out I've taken my bad day are hung it on two people I don't know but could expect to be friends with when all's said and done. Apologies all around, my bad.
Regards,
GtG
PS I voted GWB twice and if isn't the best President, he's far better then those I've seen in 67 years.
We all have bad days. I hope today is a better one for you. :)
“Yes Bush BOT it is and I suggest you find a RINO forum Got It??”
There used to be one called ‘WideAwakes’. A group of Republican malcontents left FR to create a sanctuary where they could all get away from the scoffers and mockers who dare to point out that a lot of GOP emperors aren’t wearing any clothes. Alas, that Pubbie commune went down in flames one night in a spectacular case of mutiny, and some of those Pubbie communards have been slinking back to FR.
They have a tendency to elevate their favorite politicians to near-divine status and those who criticize those politician-gods are guilty of heresy. So watch out, Cheetahcat, you not only will find yourself barraged with charges of being a secret Leftist, you may get burned at the stake as well. Figuratively, of course.
Now that's an argument I've never seen before.
