Do you personally know any missionaries working under the radar in Islamic countries? I do. While I get the constitutional and political dynamics of this Quran burning, I fear for my friend’s life. It is an irrational environment. Friendships are very slowly and carefully cultivated to where a gospel witness becomes possible. An event like this can set the clock back by decades for such missionaries. They are doing a work even more important than the military, they are attacking Islam’s false teachings in the belly of the beast. You better believe this political stunt will cost precious Christian lies, except as God himself intervenes.
BTW, I don’t know about the other chap, but my law degree is from a Christian law school. Definitely not NYU.
That’s really weird. I do all my posts in Word for spell-checking before I actually post. In post 84, “Christian lives” came out “Christian lies,” even though in my original Word copy I had it right, “Christian lives.” Is there a pro-Islamic hacker toying with our posts, or was this just a cyberfluke? Weird.
I pray for missionaries like your friends and the martyrs who went before them. None of this gives the mammoth government of the US the right to deny a citizen his civil liberties. I agree, he is likely a kook, a kook who has the right to offend under the First Amendment. Whatever evil Islamists do they are doing anyway.
This lone man is doing what the US Government and Armed Forces should have done 7 years ago. Draw a line in the sand and tell the known enemy if you cross it you will pay with shock and awe. If they had done so and destroyed the enemy the wars would have been over 5 years ago and you would never have heard of Reverend Jones.
Nothing he does excuses crimes against humanity perpetrated by the practitioners of the evil addiction called Islam.
