He’s right.

Did we not just see over 100,000 people at the 8/28 rally? Is Barbour blind? These people and millions more believe that our country is going down the tubes morally, socially, and spiritually. They understand that you can’t reject the ten commandments and still believe that there is a basis for our Constitution or our laws. They want a return not only to the Constitution, but also to the moral principals behind it.

By telling Christian conservatives to put a sock in it, he has just kissed 2012 goodbye. He didn’t have to say anything. The base is fired up both spiritually and politically. Barbour is wearing his secularity on his sleeve and displaying it when it’s not necessary. I thought he was smarter than that.

I don’t think that Barbour is telling candidates to change their positions, to become more liberal. I don’t think he’s saying to hide their positions.

He’s really just saying to stay on message which he calls jobs and the economy and I would call limited government conservativism. Stay on message. It’s a winner in 2010.

I don’t think conservatives should sit by while other Republicans try to say Gay Marriage is ok, though.
