If Petraeus stresses over a pastor in Florida burning a few books in a ceremony, and the reaction it might evoke, then perhaps he should return home, as this indicates that he does not understand why we are on the ground in Muslim nations in the first place.
The proper response by Petraeus, if he anticipates violent outburst over Quran burning in Florida, is to PREEMPTIVELY strike at the Muslims who are so inflamed.
And what about the Muslims that are fighting side by side with American troops?
In other words, if the troops in Afghan denounces your oppinion as an act of enemy of America, traitor and unpatriotic for supporting Al Qaida for its propaganda, are are you ready to denounce our troops in Afghanistan, and do about face against our Stars and Stripes?
What would Patton do? Why is our military being commanded by someone who is afraid of the enemy?
Or at least keep his mouth shut, and not give them even more publicity.
This might be a good thing. It might bring the extremists out into the open so Petraeus won’t have to search as hard.
