Their “motive”?

Clearly they have the same motive as the mohammed cartoonist....to exercise their right to freedom of expression....

If it shakes the “moderate muslims” out of the jihad tree...more power to them...

They are putting themselves in harms way to illustrate that radical islam isnt peaceful or non violent...it's a death cult that will murder, extort, and riot...in the name of allah...*spits*...and that so called “moderates” are in fact a minority in Islam...

There is no moral equivalency between Christianity and Islam....and actions like this prove it...

That’s a good point, Crim. I TOTALLY agree that ‘moderate’ Muslims should speak out without fear. I’m just questioning the timing and their support of the Westboro Baptist Church.....who I’ve always suspected as a left-wing troll group......to make Christianity look bad.

My son and everybody else who is serving in the military in Afghanistan or Iraq are putting themselves in harm's way.

This little "church" is not.

This little "church" is looking for attention. If the members of this church want to get off their butts and actually do something meaningful, they can call on their members to give up their comfy civilian lives and join the military and actually fight the radicals in the Middle East. That's a hard thing to do and from what I've seen, few, if any of their members are up to the task.

They could go and become Christian missionaries or aid workers in the Middle East or Africa, and help spread the teachings of Christ, but again, that's difficult and requires giving up comfy lives and comfy jobs. Burning books is so much easier and lazier and can be done from the comfort of your hometown.

Personally, I'm not buying into what this "church" is selling. They support Westboro Baptist Church, and they are conveniently drawing attention away from the mosque in NYC, and the media is helping them do that.

Jesus wouldn't sit around burning books, he would be out there reaching out too muslims and spreading the Word. These people are just lazy and helping Obama out.
