I think you really need to go back and reread what you just wrote. Then when you get finished go and look up the 1st Amendment.

I vehemently disagree with the phelps gang but they are citizens and have the same rights as you or I whether you like it or not.

I don't need to go back and reread anything. I know what I said; I know what the 1st amendment says. But speech, when it is from an enemy (domestic or foreign), & when it 'incites' is not guaranteed (the 'yelling fire' in a theatre scenario). We have people taking these lunatics seriously.

Yes, ignoring has worked so well through the years /heavy sarcasm. The great thing about America is that we can disagree and you are exercising that right and that's wonderful. But ignoring is not the answer. The "live and let live" philosophy sounds wonderful but is one of the reasons we are headed for the cliff.
