I understand that there will be others who have a different take on this, and feel that rights supercede responsibility and discernment, but if we're being completely straightforward about it, then all conservative, Christian Americans should support the Ground Zero mosque for the same reason......should we not?

Nope, because Islam is not a religion. It's a political movement. The cultic aspects are merely the ruse to establish a despotic regime and, in our case, overthrow the Constitution.

The Constitution, as some famous American said, is not a "sucide pact" in which rights can be finessed to overthrow those same rights.

I'm using the same argument others have been using on this topic, xzins.

It is their Constitutional "right" to build the mosque. They have the freedom to practice their religion (that is how it is defined) in this country.

And yet it is very, very wrong to build that mosque at Ground Zero, in your opinion and in mine (not Ron Paul's however, who agrees with Obama's "principles").

What I am saying is that, the arguments for this action are the same arguments for the building of a mosque at the WTC.

And I think both are wrong things to do............as a Christian, and as an American.
