Connecticut is a beautiful state run by liberal Democrats firmly in the grip of the public service unions.

The state is well on it's way to financial ruin due to feckless liberal policies and the city of Hartford has been a sty for a long time. High crime rates, low high-school graduation rates and lots of government corruption at all levels. It's a veritable 'ghost town' at night. The middle class was pushed out of Hartford decades ago and the remaining population is generally poor and uneducated with a median income of approximately $28,000. compared to an average family income of $68,000. for the state of Connecticut.

Not surprisingly, the Hartford City Council somewhat reflects the racial 'diversity' of Hartford, which is 70% African-American and Puerto Rican. All but one of the eight Hartford City Council members are members of either the Democrat or Acorn-aligned 'Working Families Party'. In short, a bunch of leftists running a failed city that liberal, socialist policies ruined.

That being the case, few Connecticut citizens care much what happens in Hartford anymore. It was written off a long time ago. Yes, this latest bit of insanity will garner national interest but in the long run, as the national interest inevitably fades, the Hartford City Council will continue to figuratively bow the knee to Islam and in time, reap the inexorable consequences. I can easily see Sharia law being legalized in the Muslim precincts of Hartford. The decline and probable fall of the west is well underway.

I know. I lived in Vernon in 1991 and 1992. The ONLY reason I ever went into Hartford was to go to Whalers games. I worked in Glastonbury, wife worked in Bloomfield.

One thing I always found interesting. When CT needed another area code 15 years ago, Hartford, the state capital, got stuck with the new 860. That certainly says something about the clout of southern CT (where the money is) and the insignificance of Hartford.
