No, I'm not. I'm not saying they can't burn the Koran. I'm saying that Petraus is asking for the church to think of the consequences to the troops in the field. That's all.
I think it's stupid, extremely stupid for the church to burn the Koran... but I didn't say they couldn't do it.
But, from most of the posts on this thread, hatred for Muslims and the right to free speech trumps Petraus' concerns that this silly, stupid, self-promoting event could cost soldiers their lives.

Clearly there are those on this thread who are confused as to who Petraeus is, and why he would try to protect his troops in this way (short memories or abject ignorance).
I think it would be best for some of us to let them stew in their own bile and feed on their emotions, and try to leave logic and common sense, as well as protection of our troops out of it.
It's clearly not working here.
