A wildfire erupted this morning in Fourmile Canyon northwest of Boulder, destroying multiple homes and leading to widespread evacuation in the foothills and igniting fears the blaze is headed toward the area burned by the Olde Stage Fire in January 2009.

Prayers for those in harms way and those fighting the fire. I hope they get it under control soon.
drove 287 from longmont to layfayette and back between 6 & 8. Amazing view of the fires. Could see flames earlier, the way back revealed a very angry sun setting.
Very little wind overnight, but what we did have shifted the smoke plume south along the Flatirons. Woke up this morning hacking. Town looks like LA on a really bad smog day. :(
Hopefully the cooler temps and no wind will get this contained. The slurry bombers are already making runs.
Sadly there is news this morning that 4 firefighters were pulled off the line after learning their homes were destroyed. Thankfully there have been no reports of injuries.
