Open letter to conservatives who back same-sex marriage
WND ^ | September 6, 2010 | David Kupelain

Posted on 09/06/2010 9:57:15 AM PDT by LonelyCon

Just two years ago, supporting homosexual marriage was such an extreme, politically radioactive position that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton – both Alinskyite progressives and long-time gay-rights supporters – saw fit to publicly and repeatedly declare their opposition to same-sex marriage.

Today, as the homosexual newspaper the Washington Blade puts it, "conservatives have taken the leadership role in achieving marriage equality."

That's right. Not only have high-profile conservatives like Glenn Beck, "The View's" Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Laura Bush, Dick Cheney and many others publicly offered their ringing endorsement of men marrying men and women marrying women, but some on the right are, as the Blade reports, actually leading the charge.

Case in point: George W. Bush's solicitor general Ted Olson has been dedicating his time as one of the two lead attorneys who successfully challenged California's Proposition 8, which had enshrined in the state's constitution the fact that, as Hillary Clinton put it, "marriage is as a marriage always has been, between a man and a woman."

Indeed, proclaims the Blade, when it comes to the battle to legalize same-sex marriage, it is conservatives who "have achieved the most important success so far as they are the most willing and most able to take the case to the Supreme Court."

...

And S.E. Cupp, a young conservative Daily Caller columnist and frequent Fox pundit, goes so far as to say, "Conservatism and gay rights are actually natural allies. Conservatism rightly seeks to keep the government out of our private lives, and when you strip away the politics of pop culture, it's this assertion of privacy and freedom that the gay rights movement is essentially making."

BS. I’ve been arguing against the homosexual agenda since my first day here in 2002 and the management hasn’t changed one iota.

How will this trend ever be reversed?

What about Proposition 8 -the voters spoke?

There is no trend, no ground swell -there is the homosexual tail trying to wag the conservative dog. There are rogue judges and a few Republicans now media darlings being trumpeted by the leftist media...

I look at it like this -THEY (homosexual agenda advocates) are very worried now with the conservative resurgence and RINOS being kicked to the curb --this is why we see all this frenzied fanfare. It is a con job perpetrated the "Journolister" way with RINO helping...

What we see now is the RINOS exposing themselves -this will ultimately strengthen the party as they are weeded out...

Civil rights cannot be based on sexually perverse behavior. Unhealthy, immoral and unnatural sexual perversions cannot be claimed to be civil rights issues.

Stop comparing a mental illness which is also a sexual perversion to people who are born black or female. Or antiquated ideas about keeping people who are born black or female in bondage.

*************************

It's a false equation. I believe that it was DSM III that removed homosexuality as a "disorder" or form of mental illness, but I may be wrong. Imho, this was a serious mistake, and opened the door to the chaos that we have today.

the more though who speak up against this agenda the more others will see they are not alone.

That's key.

The far left have used PC to silence those who disagree with their radical agenda for years and it is high time people stopped being bullied by PC.

Yes. And Conservatives have ignored them.

YOU HEAR THAT GOP, SPEAK THE HELL UP.

Rinos are only interested in power. Conservatives have to take over the GOP as the nuts did the Dems.

It was removed due to pressure from homosexual militants. IIRC they came to a meeting of some professional psychiatric association - forced their way in, and demanded it be removed. Shouting, and all that stuff. It was nothing more than political revolt and demands. One of the head dudes whose name I can’t remember (and don’t have my files handy unfortunately) who was at first on board with the removal, now has reversed his stance.

Yes that’s another in a list of category errors, comparing people with immutable natural characteristics to people who exhibit a behavior.

At least 17 or 18 have gotten banned since Prop 8 was overturned, I think quite a few are individual ones. It brought them out of the woodwork so to speak.

“Dick Cheney”

The man’s daughter is a lesbian. He is letting parental love get in the way of common sense and morality.

Should rape be a states’ rights issue?

Should abortion be a states’ rights issue?

Should bestiality be a states’ rights issue?

“Conservatism rightly seeks to keep the government out of our private lives...” Wrong that is Libertarianism. Conservatives say there SOME things that aren’t the business of the government.....sexual immorality may or may not be one of them. It is because so many today live in hetereosexual immorality that they no longer want there sin to be laid bare and thus they have no problem with homosexual immorality....out of pure self interest. Once they grow up...they usually get over it.
