Jim Geraghty over at National Review Online is now clearly in the Mike Castle camp, or at least carrying lots of water for him. http://www.nationalreview.com/campaign-spot/245596/whos-backstabbing-who-delaware
As I recall, National Review endorsed John McCain over J.D. Hayworth. I don't recall any concerns mentioned about his Keating Five role or his widely reported temper tantrums. No, J.D., we were told, had all kinds of flaws. Hell, he even did an infomerical promoting federal grants, which would not have to be paid back. These, they concluded, were fatal flaws. All of McCain's disastrous positions and tactics over the years -- from his opposition to the Bush tax cuts, promotion of cap-and-trade, support of amnesty, draconian efforts to limit free political speech, etc., etc., were to be forgiven, or in the big scheme of things, tolerated. I believe we will pay a heavy price for McCain's return.
Now, here comes Christine O'Donnell, another imperfect human-being and candidate. She's had financial difficulties. That's not unique, is it? Of course, Castle has been on the public dole for decades. We, the people, pay his rent, so he hasn't had to deal with the ups and downs of private sector life. However, Geraghty all but finds O'Donnell guilty of perjury given her radio interview and financial disclosure report. I guess that means Joe Biden is headed to prison for campaign violations since campaign reports are also filed under penalty of perjury.
I usually like Geraghty's work. He's a smart, analytical young man. But perhaps he's more Republican than conservative. That's ok, mind you. But it is what it is. I am hopeful he will spend a little more time digging further into Castle's financial and voting records before the primary is over, but time is running out. And we have a Constitution to reestablish. Perspective, boys, perspective.
Leisler, that cover certainly depicts the mindset that has become NR.
Anyone who could support Myth Romney could certainly line up behind Mike Castle. Or, to state it differently, anyone who could support Myth Romney would have the pants scared off of them by someone like Christine O’Donnell.
ANOTHER MYTH from MYTH ROMNEY
Against Myth Romney is 1:
Against Myth Romney is 2:
Susan Englander, assistant editor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Papers Project at Stanford University, who is editing the King papers from that era,
says Myth Romney was untruthful, when she told the Globe yesterday:
"I researched this question, and indeed it is untrue that George Romney marched with [Dr.] King."
Against Myth Romney is 3:
"King never marched in Grosse Pointe, according to the Grosse Pointe Historical Society,
and had not appeared in the town at all at the time the Broder book was published.
Im quite certain of that, says Suzy Berschback, curator of the Grosse Pointe Historical Society"
This year is different. There is an anger at politics as usual and the voters have woken up to it.
I think a lot of people misread the Tea Party, Town Hall anger as pro-Republican but it is not. It is anti business-as-usual in Wash DC and business-as-usual is the first and foremost MO of the democrat.
Consider this: Why, when the democrats had their super-majority, couldn't they just vote straight up and down on all of Obama’s agenda? Why all the wheeling and dealing, the behind closed door promises, the pork barreling and flip-flops? This is what people are pissed off at! It isn't anti-democrat or pro-republican. To think so is a misread of what will happen in November. This anger will be not only directed against the democrats, but against RINOs, too.
To that end, Christine O'Donnell is the main benefactor in Delaware of that mood. This mood has clearly manifested itself in many primaries (although John McCain overcame it), and will be a huge factor in November.
Mitt has had a very poor quality education in what America is. He grew up in elite prep schools, neighborhoods. His family’s status in the LDS further isolated him. Even his choice of occupation, the number crunching, margin seeking capital markets isolated him.
Like the hired consultant he was, he has tried to hire consultants so that he can purchase the outcome he wants. He has listened to his bought consultants to tell him to run to the left of Ted Kennedy. So he branded himself as Mr. Liberal. Then he changed advertising/public relations company and re-branded himself as a Mike Dukakis technocrat, that got ( lefty ) job done, hence Romneycare. Now he’s re-re-branded himself as Mr. Conservative.
Further, at a time when the establishment Bush/Hasteret/Lott/RINO RNC/GOP elite are losing Republican foot soldier support faster than Hitler did in his last few weeks, Mitt runs to the Bunker and swears eternal loyalty to the loser GOP leadership.
What a clueless dolt.
No one this stupid, this ignorant of America, so constantly out of harmony with the political currents should be President.
Easily, we can do way, way better. But, my prediction is that the RNC/GOP establishment will push for him, as will the leftist media. ( Anyone who ‘worked with’ Massachusetts Democrats, and gave Romneycare, before Obamacare, has to be an all right Republican by them.)
Romney aides bogus badges: Sources detail illegal security tactic
" Boston Herald - Friday, July 20, 2007
In an apparent violation of the law, a controverisal aide to ex-Gov. Mitt Romney
created phony law enforcement badges that he and other staffers used on the campaign trail
to strong-arm reporters, avoid paying tolls and trick security guards
into giving them immediate access to campaign venues, sources told the Herald.
They (the aides) knew the badges were fake and probably illegal,
said a presidential campaign source who asked for anonymity
because the story could damage the individuals career.
Two additional sources confirmed that the badges - described as bright silver plates with a state seal attached -
were first created and used by Garrity while Romney was still governor."

John McCain believes it,and will attempt to pass his seat on to his daughter.
It's "fog of war" time here. We really won't know until 9/14. I was feeling great yesterday morning. Then I called an old socially conservative but apolitical church friend from Dover in order to ask her to go to a Christine event in Dover that night. All she knew about the campaign was what she read in Castle's propaganda literature. I was shocked because these are the kind of folks that should have been in the bag.
Then last night I went to a volunteer meeting and I was blown away by the energy. If you know anyone in DE, please get on the phone! send them to the website and tell them to mark their calendars for 9/14. Cut & paste this post and send it out as an email. We can take back are country from these evil despots!
Heartening news, indeed! Nothing like a fired-up base.
Um, that would have to be 9 years from now.
And believe it or not -
Christine was a staunch Conservative BEFORE the TEA Party Movement got going.
We just got home (Baltimore area) from Ocean City and counted signs just for the heck of it. Traveling US rt. 113 and Del rt. 1.
61 - O’Donnell
16 - Castle
Most of the Castle signs were a little larger and there was one bill-board sized but, 61 to 16. Wow.
Also all but one of the Castle signs were in the northern most county, New Castle.
As an out-of-stater, it looks like O’Donnell has a lot of ground support.

Can we start a new thread on this. We really need to win this one and we can.
I think there’s a number of threads now.
Great post.
What you said BUMP.
Castle MUST lose. It doesn’t matter to whom he loses, Democrat or Republican, but he MUST lose.
