The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Yes, they were at the Rangers game last night and the Fox network only showed a few seconds of GWB, Laura and Nolan Ryan standing up and applauding before the commercial break. Fox didn’t have that many shots of GWB and I think that was a calculating decision on their part.
Yeah, so do I!
I am originally from Michigan and we root for the Michigan teams still--I thought about the fact that GWB might be there last night and was a little bummed that he and I were at odds. :) I didn't see any pictures of him when I checked the tv (our 12 year old watched some of the game after the UM game was over) so am very glad you posted.
Thanks again!
Thanks for the ping. I love that first picture. Look at that grin on Laura’s face. LOL
Thanks for the ping! President Bush looks cute with his long hair...:)
Is that Nolan Ryan on the left? He has aged so much since he was playing. :-/
thanks for putting together this set of great posts of info/pix. Both G & L are looking wonderful
some real keepers in these pix
Indeed, that is Nolan Ryan. He does seem to look a lot older, a far cry from his younger days years ago.
Isn’t it good to see GW and Laura having a grand ol’ time? Nearly three years away from Washington certainly has changed their demeanor and attitude, especially our President. He’s more relaxed and funnier and the pics showed proof of that! I can remember the last few years in office I saw photos of him looking at times unhappy and not smiling. Who can blame him after all the abuse he suffered from the press and his political enemies? So, it’s wonderful to see GWB looking cheerful and smiling again.
Yes it is indeed
Of course you still see the occasional “Bush should be executed” people out braying (like Donkeys) to their friends! This was coming from some radio operator from the left wing. I’d hope if it is a serious effort, that the Sec. Service has been notified! Sick, twisted goons, aren’t they?
You’d think this country has enough problems; this is completely sick and wrong for them to be spouting off like that! Good grief, isn’t this the same sort of people who scolded Sarah Palin for her rhetoric?
It is sad to see vile rhetoric coming from the left. The loony left are always lecturing to us that we need to be civil and respectful towards their King Obama. Well, where were to stop people from making death treats against Bush? Where we they when he was being called every name in the book?
If anyone who has been uncivil and hateful in this political climate, it’s the left who have smeared every conservative in office. They have no right to lecture us on civility and lack of respect when they’ve been the perpetrators of ugly name-calling and hate-mongering! I had to get that off my chest. I’m done venting. :)
I was told not to post any Getty Images pics so I had to notify the moderator to remove them so that’s why posts #2,184 and #2,185 are gone. I didn’t know about the rule for Getty Images not being allowed on FR. I’m very sorry and I apologize for my ignorance. Hope you all had the chance to see all the pics or copied them! :(
No worries. I wondered how long they would last when I saw the Getty watermark. LOL
Thanks for posting them, I love the one of Dubya with his head back laughing. It’s so good to see him and all the better to see him so happy.
I have 5 or 6 huge scrapbooks with literally thousands of pictures of him and Laura starting with their first day in office. I gleaned all the pics from the Day in the Life threads. I would come in every evening and print my favorites and add them to my books. I kind of slacked the last year or so (life got in the way) but I still treasure those books and pull them out whenever I get to missing them too bad.
Hey, ohioWfan! You probably don’t remember me, I use to go by the name ReaganandDubyaForever. You were always one of my favorite people in the whole world. :) We used to chat every day on those old Day-in-the-Life threads. Man, I miss those days. :(
Just thought I’d say hi.
Getty does not like anyone to post their pictures, that is why they have a whater mark on them
