McCain embraces the GOP's right (McCain, Graham want to lead Tea Party)

Has John McCain "sold his soul" to win re-election?

It's a question that briefly flustered the self-ascribed maverick and 2008 presidential nominee when asked Sunday morning by Chris Wallace of Fox News - but it's also an accusation McCain, who defended having changed his position on several issues, is not alone in having to answer.

(snip)

McCain, along with South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham, called Sunday for a new "Contract with America," Newt Gingrich's political blueprint that helped give Congress back to the GOP in 1994.

But both senators - who once made their marks in Congress by seeking middle ground on hot-button policy issues like immigration and energy - seem to have shifted further to the right to make their case. McCain, who's seeking a fifth term in November, recently beat back a primary challenge from the right from former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.

That’s amazing... I told Sharky that night (and later when they were looking for missing ballots...) I was afraid to peer my head out... but that was more or less the first time I had heard of Miller. I love Alaska and spent two summers up there. The libs who don’t even consider that an important or intelligent state are the morons/intolerants themselves.

Thanks, Ron. Glenn weeps and he tries not to. I get teary-eyed and I try not to. Some of us can’t help it. Bush 41 and 43 for examples were also prone to misty-eyes and 41 more so.

I view passion, emotion and love for country as patriotism and displays frm the heart only ‘steel our resolve’ as you have so succinctly and beautifully stated, dear Ron.

" Heck, a lot of conservatives even do that."

If they are conservative and have a set they don't. By their actions you judge them.

However much we may hate the idea of these two RINOs leading the Tea party Movement, if the MSM want them to lead them they will.

Colin Powell was almost made the RNC candidate for POTUS if the MSM dad their way. The only problem was Powell not wanting the job.

Now with these two wanting the job, what’s to stop the MSM from trying the same trick?

Newt’s got more baggage than an airliner.

Maybe he can get Dede to run as his vice president.

There isn’t any “leader of the Tea Party”. At best, what will happen is elected politicians will pursue the agenda of tea party participants. Why does everyone get their panties in wad over meaningless nonsense?

Thank you for your understanding! lol

Please pass my regards and salutations on to the good Dr. Obviously, he married “up”.

I’ve never held it against anybody for serving in the Navy. Some of my favorite relatives were sailors.

“If nothing else JD’s run at him has caused him to freeze”

Until the votes are counted and the foolish people of Arizona vote him back in office. Then he will turn left, as he always does.

I should add, that husband took his commission in the USAF. They didn’t have their Academy in those days.
