Republican revolts
NY Post ^ | September 05, 2010 | Editorial

When given the chance this election season, Republican voters are tossing out hidebound incumbents and ushering in new blood, sending a signal to the GOP establishment that the flip-flopping and rampant spending of the latter Bush years won’t be tolerated.

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who’d boasted of her Appropriations Committee power over pork-barrel spending, learned that lesson last week — conceding defeat to upstart challenger Joe Miller, an Iraq War veteran and Tea Party favorite.

In this election cycle, the GOP grassroots also ended the tenures of incumbent Sens. Bob Bennett of Utah and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania — despite both being endorsed by the National Republican Senate Committee.

Outraged by Bennett’s vote for the bank bailout and openness to the Obama health-care program, state GOP convention attendees this summer denied him a spot on the primary ballot — ending his three-term career.

In Michigan’s 7th district we nominated a former one term congressman by a wide margin. Given the fact that he was by far the most conservative candidate there is a stark message in it for the GOP.

He was tossed overboard and stripped of money by the NRCC in 08 and today they’re snuggling as close as they can to him.

The Republican Party won in 1994 because they nationalized local elections so people voted as American patriots and not as single constituents from districts so and so in so and so states or commonwealths.

This time THE PEOPLE and not the Party are nationalizing the 2010 elections.

Ala 1776,it is time to remove another TYRANT’s supporters and then HIM in two more years.

No one can forget that, however the Repub’s spent like drunk sailors for the first 6 years of Compassionate Conservative Bush’s term. No more darn compassion at the expense of out children and grandchildren! The RNC will receive no $$$ until they serve like the public demands.

W respected the will of the people in 2006 when they elected the Dem majorities—they voted for socialism so he let the Dems advance it without causing a fuss.
W was showing us all that elections have consequences and he will be forever damned for this cynical abdicating of conservative principle his last two years.

This is the welcome realization of voters that it doesn’t matter if you win if your choice of candidate is going to immediately collaborate with the enemy.

People should never forget what little support he had from his own party over 8 years. Yes on the surface they backed him, but not where or when it counted. When the tax cuts expire will be the first sign of what damage RINO’s can cause.

It is not about Republicans and Dems any more. Its about conservatives and liberals, I think. We sort of have to use the R and D labels because 3rd parties are losers, but within the Republican Party, we can drive it conservative with the Tea Party effort. But it's not just the Tea Party that is causing the Conservative Swell, the tsunami that hits in November is going to be a result of MANY groups and MANY ideas, all conservative causing a Conservative Tsunami that is going to reshape the political landscape in November.

The Tea Party and the Tsunami

The RNC will receive no $$$ until they serve like the public demands.

Tim Walberg running in Michigan's 7th district spent 14 years in the state legislature without a single vote in favor of a new tax or tax increase. During his single 06 to 08 term in the US house he was a consistent vote in favor of opening up more offshore oil despite his personal opposition to it. In fact he spent his summer in DC demanding that speaker Pelosi return to DC to deal with energy policy. He was also a no vote on the big bank bailout both times. The GOP tossed him overboard and now he's back with a 10 point lead.

Its kind of funny watching the democrats trying to use the oil thing against him. Imagine that, a politician voting for his constituents instead of for himself.
