ARVADA Another member of the Arvada police department has resigned in connection with a case involving alleged use of excessive force.
The resignation was announced at a press conference this afternoon.
A total of six officers have resigned: four of them in connection to the January incident, and two others as a result of seperate internal personnel matters. One of the officers who resigned is one who was previously said to have been on paid administrative leave.

And if this had not been recorded, no one would have sided with the man who was tazed.
Yup, cuz we all know that its only a very, very, very, very tiny number of cops across this country who would do such a thing. /s
Tasers need to be made double ended.
So when are the charges going to be filed?
Does anyone have a link to the video?
Do you know what the incident was? While it is great the Chief is saying he will not put up with this, not allowing the public to know what the incident is might keep potential witnesses who might help either side from coming forward. Tough to know to come forward if you do not know an outside agency is investigating an incident.
“A total of six officers have resigned...”
With officers like this, they’ll fit in well with just about any law enforcement agency in Florida.
Yup, because out of all the cops, in all their jurisdictions . . . oh, never mind . . . why bring statistics into this discussion. /s
Right, because statistics will convince me that this particular story doesn't matter. /s
Exactly! Because no one would ever think of taking this particular and use it to impugn everyone! /s
I could start posting every single story like this I find, but I'm sure if I did it would upset many of the law and order at any cost types we have around here.

Oh, my . . . and if you started posting stories about shark attacks, people might think there’s an epidemic of them.
“why bring statistics into this discussion”
Oh you mean like over 50% of cops agree “It is not unusual for a police officer turn a blind eye to improper conduct by other officers.”
Or 58.5% of cops disagree that “Police officers always report serious criminal violations involving abuse of authority by fellow officers”

More people die from getting hit by falling coconuts than from sharks.
Legal System Struggles With How to React When Police Officers Lie

Whats to struggle about? They have a position of trust. If they lie in the performance of their duties they should be jailed. If they are shown to be of low moral character outside of work they should be fired.
Thanks for the reading material, though, I'll check it out.
Agreed, but unfortunately that's not the case. It seems that more and more as cops lie either in reports or in court all that happens is at best a cursory "investigation", then a reprimand in a personnel file or maybe a stint on paid leave. But the usual punishment is an embarrassing moment in the media spotlight then its right back to lying in court and falsifying reports.
