I offer this for discussion. I got in lots of arguments with liberals after the election, as I pointed out people losing jobs AFTER the election. Libs continued to bash Bush for it--even though the era of "Hopey Changey" was just around the corner.

Now I think the opposite is happening. People see Hussein's unchecked power ending, and so are willing to take a bit more of a risk.

thoughts?

I very much hope that the business community and America in general become more optimistic after November 2. That said, I’m also concerned that people will be disappointed and upset if a newly Republican-led Congress can’t instantly undo all the financial and cultural damage and change everything back to the happy golden days of the 1980s.

It would be useful to point out the point on that chart at which the donkeys took over Congress - it’s the House that writes the budget, not the President (except for the current regime, in which the House hasn’t even been able to pass anythng more than a continuing resolution).

Bottom line - employment went all to hell when the democrats got their hands on the Treasury.

Regarding the chart itself: If it included the latest three months of this year, it would have shown:

54,000 jobs lost in June, 171,000 lost in July, and 54,000 lost in August.

I don’t think Claire will be updating that chart anytime soon to show what a wonderful job Obama has done...
