No real change. Only one more report before election day in November.

U6 - real unemployment - increased from 16.5% to 16.7% which is the highest since April. Of course, this was UNEXPECTED!

Only one more report before election day in November.Count on an unexpectedly good report in the October report. And count on a major downward revision in November.

Anyone else think these numbers don't add up? And I don't mean just this month's.

Nonfarm payroll employment changed little (-54,000) in August, and the unemployment rate was about unchanged at 9.6 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Ask the people who lost their jobs whether the change was "little". By my calculation, a net -54,000 jobs with private payrolls adding 67,000 means well over 100,000 people lost their jobs.

“about unchanged”????????
What a joke. I’ve heard the unemployment rate described as “unchanged” when it remains the same but I’ve never heard this type verbage. How many tenths does it have to jump to actually change?
LOL

Big government types like big government. They hate the private sector and the free market. But most of all they despise this country. Remember former auto czar, Bloom: 'The free market is a joke.'

BULLCRAP!
I don’t want our economy to fail as it hurts my family, friends and folks I don’t even know, but love.
I don’t trust them. I’d like to know the names of companies who actually hired FULL TIME WORKERS.

I was thinking something very similar to that. Even though I’d nearly bet my retirement that the actual unemployment rate is over 10%, the Federal bureaucracy and the Democratic propaganda machine known as the MSM will NEVER report it. It’s a psychological barrier that they know will REALLY hurt the Dems, even more than they already stand to be hurt in November.

Exactly, if they were honest the real number is over twice 9.6%.

Yes - I’m with you. As I posted last month, figures don’t lie but liars sure figure. They settle on a % and then tinker with the numbers below and above and voila, it comes out exactly as they want it to.
