Yep, and he has the legal right to do it. The County sheriff is the leading law enforcement officer in his jurisdiction, and can legally arrest and/or detain anyone (Up to and including the POTUS)for cause within his county.
Last I heard, obstruction of justice is a crime, and the feds are surely doing that.

A favorite old movie of mine was filmed in Maricopa County.
I hope that the actual judges in that county are similar to the one in the film ("Used Cars")
And I hope that some of those troublesome feds come up before such a judge.
