The reporting on this event is hosed!

Just read an article claiming two performing wells at this platform and a mile-long oil sheen.

What was first reported I believe to be true: “explosion at non-performing platform where repair work was in process and no fatalities reported. Men in the water”.

What I would like to know is why and how did it explode? This seems too damn convenient just a day or two after the courts said “NO” to a drilling ban in the Gulf.

Smells like propaganda to me.

It’s got my bs meter going, too. When cap and trade is being rejected in the Congress, suddenly everything having to do with oil is blowing up in the Gulf.

Just a couple of days ago some California hacks were screaming that they wanted no part of Texas oil companies operating in their state.

If I am not mistaken the oil rig in this case is owned by a Texas company.
