Equal right to marry, and divorce (2 homosexual politicians split)
The Boston Globe ^ | 09/02/2010 | Jarrett Barrios

Posted on 09/02/2010 11:56:33 AM PDT by Andy'smom

...I was one of the first elected officials in the country to marry his same-sex partner. In part because there were so many naysayers, we worked to be a model couple — with each of us trying be the perfect husband. Like other lesbian and gay couples, we hoped to show our relationships for what they are: loving partnerships that deserve the possibility of “happily ever after” that marriage promises. Nearly a year ago, I separated from my partner. At the time, we had been together for 16 years and married for over five. I felt I couldn’t discuss it beyond my close circle of friends. Especially if you’re gay and arguing that marriage should be open to you, divorce seems to be the ultimate failure.

So a non traditional “couple” wanted to be part of a traditional institution like marriage and can't live by the traditional or non traditional social norms. I see that as a real thumb in my eye.

>You have work at your marriage every day.<

They did, that’s why they were able to say: “...each of us trying be the perfect husband.”

“Gay marriage” a stupid political stunt for Dems, Megan McCain and Rich Lowry.

Hattaway? OMG, Becky and there appear to be children too. That breaks my heart.

I wonder if anyone is tracking the lives of these children who are forced to accept that lifestyle as the norm.

That’s stupid. One of them should have been the wife. It adds normalcy to the relationship. No wonder it didn’t work out.

Hard to make a marriage work when it’s primary purpose is to make a political statement. Of course, there is, was, and will never be any such thing as “gay marriage.”

“The public needs these kinds of facilities and I don’t see the need of closing it,” said Malden Mayor Richard Howard, adding others are “overreacting” to the gay site.

Did this idiot ACTUALLY make this asinine comment?
What kind of idiots vote for these degenerates? This is even bad for MA.

Because I worked in those stores who closed them. Further one does get to know the other stores management, though they are competitive they do share problems common to all. If there is theft in one store others are alerted etc. Same with the issue of the stalls being used for other than their purpose. A mall is like a community in many respects. Little happens that the rest aren’t aware of....especially the anchor stores.

I can just hear the comments of the boys after their third suicide attempt, “It’s hard when your Dad and Dad marry, then adopt you to make political statements.” God bless them. Please.

16 years in gay time is like 160years in straight time. they had a good run! Unfortunately, the only winners in gay “marriage” are the divorce attorneys.

I’m about as naive about these things as you can get, but even I’ve heard of this. Read about it on FR, of course! It is certainly the place to remain informed!

It make me physically ill when they refer to themselves as "husbands." A husband implies the presence of a wife as light implies the existence of darkness and beginning implies an ending.

They can't mandate into oblivion the existence of common sense and those who possess it.
