“Deadly force is justified when you are in reasonable immediate fear of great bodily harm or death. Once you see the tail lights speeding away from you, “reasonable fear” would be a hard sell.”

Except in Texas.

Once you see the tail lights speeding away from you, “reasonable fear” would be a hard sell.

Except what happened to a friend of mine who was accosted by two armed "amish" males in his garage. He pulled his little pistor and shot at them. They ran away. A few minutes later he noticed a car coming slowly down the street, the window rolled down and they shot a number of 9mm rounds at him his car and his garage. fortunately they missed him. He fired back, but with a short barrel .32 all he hit was their side window. So fleeing assailant(s) doesn't mean you're safe.
