Meghan McCain, daughter of 2008 GOP presidential nominee John McCain, has a tell-all book out entitled Dirty Sexy Politics. In it she describes her experiences campaigning with and blogging about her dad. The book is one third chronicle of the lives of campaign children, one part a picture inside the campaign and one third angst: clothes, make up, hair, appearance, mean blog comments, unflattering media coverage. There's a lot of crying involved. Oh, and “crazy sex,” which McCain describes as, “sex with somebody who is extremely bad for you. Somebody you probably don't even like that much. But on the road, things have a way of changing.” McCain cites numerous examples of such transgressions – she says she did not partake herself – though she's changed most of the names to protect “the identities of a few campaign staffers and members of the media about whom I had bad things to say.” She's sure to note early on that she was very young – 23, 24 at the time – and so made some childish mistakes.

Other transgressions garner somewhat less empathy for youthful indiscretions. For example, she writes about stealing Romney lawn signs on New Hampshire primary day and getting caught by an upstanding citizen. Her solution? She speeds her way from the scene and coerces her mother's hairstylist, who looks like her, to go back and wait for the State Troopers.

What do the sales look like?
Book deals are payoffs. Barb Boxer and Pelosi had one. Jim Wright and the list goes on. You hire a ghost writer for a few grand. Give the writer an advance. Print up 10,000 at probably $1 a book. Send a few out to the books stores, the balance go to the dollar store and pulp mill where they are recycled.
Book deals like this are just a payoff or bribe.
Meghan’s “job” is to bash Republicans and Palin.
She was totally quiet during the primary. After the idiots in AZ voter for McCain, she comes back out.
She could undergo a sex change operation and the sadists of the Left would still hate her out of principle.
And it is a shame to see how far the McCain family has fallen. I know a lot of people here don't like John McCain but he was a true war hero. His father had a successful and honorable career in the Navy. His ancestors have an honorable tradition of public service. Then we get this spoiled little girl as the next generation. Any wonder America is in decline?
They are just bribes and payoffs.

I ignore Meghan McCain. I see her on Fox, or MSNBC and switch the channel instantly. The only thing Meghan McCain has done to make her opinion worth listening to is be born to rich, connected parents.
She’s a spoiled rich kid, that’s all, no more, no less.
I have no idea why people continue to pay attention to her, or give her a forum.
ABC-Disney-Hyperion only published this text so they could trot her out on ABC News, The View, et al to pimp the product and trash Republicans and the Tea Party.
It’s an October “Suprise” smear.
