Also cheaper junk food and less obesity.

Also cheaper energy and less oil drilling and coal mining.

Twinkie Beast: go back to California. Stop spending my children’s money on unions and pork projects.

Speaking of pork, Romer is the Queen of Pork.

More spending, less taxes? What utter morons lead this nation! That’s like saying eat more food and exercise less.
These leftist roaches are destructive critters.

Spending and tax cuts.

Spend 900 billion. And give everyone a tax cut of 2 bucks.

Do any of these “economists” have college credits from a non-Marxist?

RE :”Romer called on officials Wednesday to move forward on policies that will increase government spending and cut taxes. She also called for investments in infrastructure and new trade agreements. Romer said that while some new policies should be viewed as emergency measures, most should be paid for with future spending cuts or revenue returns. She said concerns about the mounting deficit should not be used as an excuse “for leaving unemployed workers to suffer

Her fix is MORE spending and tax cuts but she doesn't say what she calls a tax cut. I assume she means more Obama welfare-like temporary tax credits. Right now they plan on raising taxes not cutting taxes. What does she say about that?

Questions:
#1 : Haven't Democrats complained ENDLESSLY about Bush/Republicans cutting taxes while increasing spending? Then she needs to tell us she thinks Bush did the right thing given her proposal. I personally don't agree with them, see #2.

#2 : This crap about spending cuts and tax increases in the future to pay for tax cuts and spending increases now... doesn't that just screw the next guy while rewarding the current guy. I mean, won't the next president feel the need to ‘stimulate’ the economy for jobs like Bush, then Obama, by running up deficits too? Then this pay in the future stuff is nonsense.

Read her bio on Wikipedia. Another academic with no real world experience. Her whole life has been in university or “learned societies.”

Well, my concern is for the size of the crack bill Christina Romer and her “team” are running up. And, you ask, what makes you think such a bill exists and that it is such a large one? Well, I answer, can you think of a more likely explanation as to why these addle-brained fools believe more deficit spending is going to rev up the U.S. economy, when the first trillion in deficit spending failed?

Good idea.

Find something that doesn’t work and do more of it.

In normal recessions — the argument goes — an increase in discretionary government spending is unnecessary and even counterproductive. But in the event that a recession becomes a depression, a Keynesian stimulus package might work.

^
The Democrat Economist have know this about Keynesian economic theory, therefore, like the JournaList, let me introduce to you;

the Econolist

Transcript of Pelosi, House Democratic Leaders, and Economists’ Press Conference Following Economic Forum

Speaker Pelosi.
“I am pleased that we had the benefit of the thinking of Dr. Mark Zandi, Dr. Alan Blinder, Bob Kuttner, Heather Boushey, Bill Hambrecht, and Allen Sinai.”

add Christina Romer and Paul Krugman. Did I miss any other Democrat economist?

WH Advisor Jared Bernstein, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, National Economics Council chief Larry Summers and the rest of his economics team
