Reports are that he was concerned about overpopulation. Also at today’s press briefing the police said he had two starter pistols. Nonlethal? They are being rather noncommital about the nature and strength of the “explosives”. I have talked with people who knew him and they think he could have been talked down. Who knows, a sad business all around. So many people scared out of their wits. And this guy dead, possibly unnecessarily.

When you are holding people hostage at gunpoint, you then lose your right to life as far as I’m concerned. And it’s not all bad. At least he was able to do his part in contributing to solving the “overpopulation” problem.
