‘Specialized’ (whatever that means) farms could be used for growing food also.
Growing food, also? I guess those few hundred acres would make a significant contribution to the few hundred thousand our county already has in wheat, potatoes, asparagus, fruit, etc. If BC could make more money in food, that's what would be planted.
Or do you favor centralized government planning of crops?
