Yep, one of the recent talking points from liberals is that Porkulus wasn’t effective because it wasn’t big enough.
Allocating $800 billion wasn’t enough money. If only we had been able to spend a few trillion, then it would have had an impact. And the blame goes to Republicans, because the Republicans held the stimulus to $800 billion. Good Democrats wanted to spend more, so it’s the Republicans’ fault that Porkulus has failed. At least those are the talking points.
They should add something to the signs that ARE up, giving details on how much “per long-term employment job” has been spent on this boondoggle. So that the public can get a real understanding of how it has benefited all of us.
