On Saturday, NewsBusters sister site Eyeblast.tv sent contributing editor Joe Schoffstall to see what exactly Al Sharptons protest rally was all about. While there, he was able to get an interview with NAACP President Ben Jealous regarding his thoughts on Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor rally.
Jealous claimed that those at Restoring Honor wouldnt applaud Dr. King's historic 1963 "I Have a Dream" speech.
Beck aired that Eyeblast video and promptly destroyed Jealous's argument by playing clips of the crowd enthusiastically cheering mentions of the late civil rights leader.
The race card is far from being worn out.
************
The race card will still be offered, probably in perpetuity.
The account is overdrawn however, and it won’t be honored anywhere.
Glenn Beck had three awards on Saturday, based on the themes of faith, hope, and charity. The first went to a black preacher from Houston, the second to a Hispanic baseball player (Albert Pujols), and the third to a man who wasn’t present because of his granddaughter’s wedding (so I don’t know his race—but the award was accepted on his behalf by a black woman).
Sharpton held a rally with almost nothing but blacks in a country that is 80% white.
Beck held a rally with TONS of blacks on the stage AND being honored far beyond their 13% of the population.
Sharpton is a member of a racist organization that seeks to advance the lives of blacks at the expense of whites.
Beck wants everyone regardless of color to have the freedom to succeed in this country.
Now... WHO is the racist again?
Reminds me of the old TS ticket...
and Beck had 400,000 with 10% black
then there were more blacks at Beck's rally than Sharpton.
It should be easy enough to analyze the percentage of blacks at Becks rally.
The thing that struck me about the blacks at Beck’s rally is that they must be listening to him for them to even know about the rally. Yahoo!
