The Civil Rights movement was indeed a part of the Left's assault on the USA. Its intent was to create division along racial lines, the same as Feminism did along gender lines. Below was supposed to be an AP photo of MLK protesting against the war in Vietnam but only the caption will copy.

53 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., leads a crowd of 125,000 Vietnam War protesters in front of the United Nations in New York on April 15, 1967, as he voices a repeated demand to "Stop the bombing." (AP Photo)

The Civil Rights movement and the protests against the war were all part of the same Marxist effort. LBJ was very active in furthering the Leftist cause with his Great Society social programs, including Medicare, and his attempt to outdo FDR.

After signing the Civil Rights law into effect in 1964 he called Senator Richard Russell of Georgia and said, "That'll keep the n----rs voting Democrat for the next 200 years."

It was all about moving the socialist agenda forward and maintaining power.

Your assessment does seem a little off, although not entirely. There were no doubt (at all) political leftists hanging about, and LBJ used "the N word." The quote you gave captures the party's, and particularly his intentions perfectly.

The article is specifically about the African-American Civil Rights Movement (1955–1968) (as Wikipedia calls it), not the broader use of the term by corrupt extremists friends of Barack Obama. I don't know you, so I don't know your age. Blacks suffered a great deal in America, and their Civil Rights Movement is one we can all identify with - as humans. Martin Luther King was key to the character of the movement, which was peaceful and aimed at positive results.

His I Have a Dream speech is one of the greatest speeches ever given by an American, right up there with Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.

MLK's niece Alveda King verses Al Sharpton on the matter of race make the difference between her uncle's vision and the corrupt far-left perfectly clear. It's about whether people are lifted up or dragged down.

Addressing the Restoring Honor Rally, she said it beautifully. "I too have a dream, that white privilege will become human privilege and that people of every ethnic blend will receive everyone as brothers and sisters in the love of God.”

On the other end, Al Sharpton preaching hate and an end to "privilege" (also known as "human rights").
