Xavier in NOLA is far less "Catholic" than one might assume.

Loyola is the more Catholic university in that city. Xavier is more of a HBC than a Catholic one.

Loyola of New Orleans really isn’t catholic either. No Jesuit-run university even pretends to be obedient to the Pope.
