This is ok?
Folsom Street Fair

Nope, and I never said anything like that was OK.

I guess you didn't notice my statement in my first post where I said: "Also, they shouldn't be so much "in your face" with their homosexuality, if you know what I mean."

With that statement, I was referring to the kind of behavior to be found in fairs such as the one you linked to. Personally, I would want those people arrested, charged, and prosecuted, and maybe even removed from general society altogether by sending them to prison. They were acting like depraved and wild animals in that fair and any others like it.

There is depravity amongst homosexuals as well as in the straight society. However, the majority in any of those groups don't behave like those at the fair you mentioned. Therefore, the way I see it, the majority shouldn't get condemned for the actions of a minority in their group.

After 20 years of research there is nothing that points to such a conclusion. And the APA has backed off their genetic stand.

APA drops "gay gene" claim, research shows change is possible for gays

I too used to point at studies like to back up my beliefs that homosexuality was wrong. I still believe that it's wrong, but I also believe that it might be something that they have no "choice" about.

Even children, at a very young age and before they've had any exposure to sex, exhibit their tendency or preference or attraction for the same sex. So, how did they get that "abnormal" behavior? Did they learn it or get exposed to some others exhibiting that kind of behavior?

Research into sexuality is still very flawed and more is being learned everyday. Therefore, until scientific research can determine very conclusively what causes someone to "become" homosexual, I'll withhold judgment and I'll try to be tolerant.

It's a mental illness. No one chooses to be mentally ill. But they do choose to remain that way.

I suppose that you understand mental illness very well and that you're an expert at it.

I don't doubt that there are people who experiment with same sex experiences while being straight. And there might be others that want to go "both ways" in their sexual "endeavors". But, I also believe that to real homosexuals, it wasn't a "choice" that they made to have an attraction for their same sex. That "tolerance" is a big change for me who used to feel uncomfortable around them and actually hated being around gays.

People are born with many different traits and with many different faults or defects. Some of those defects can be genetic or post genetic in the womb. Psychology is a very inexact science and the APA will still have to continue their "research"; but the most research will have to be done on the brain and on the character altering chemicals in the body.

They are not the minority. And THEY are the very ones pushing for special rights based on behavior. Those ARE the "activists".

but I also believe that it might be something that they have no "choice" about.

It is a mental illness that they choose to cling to.

Even children, at a very young age and before they've had any exposure to sex, exhibit their tendency or preference or attraction for the same sex. So, how did they get that "abnormal" behavior?

There are varied reasons. Abuse, lack of relationship with the father or no father, disapproval of a mother. There are many causes.

Research into sexuality is still very flawed and more is being learned everyday.

Not really. Research is being blocked by homosexual lobbyists. They use political pressure to silence critics. All of this has been posted on FR.

I suppose that you understand mental illness very well and that you're an expert at it.

I have a gay brother and have gotten to know his friends. I used to go bar-hopping with them. There were quite a few "gay" bars in Toledo. The mental illness is obvious. And they all had lousy parental relationships and some had been abused by friends and relatives. All were unhappy. Some suicidal.

Some of those defects can be genetic

No. They are not.

Born or Bred?: Science Does Not Support the Claim That Homosexuality Is Genetic

In his book Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth, Dr. Jeffrey Satinover writes:

We will see later the falsity of activists' repeated assertions that homosexuality is immutable. They seek to create the impression that science has settled these questions, but it most certainly has not. Instead, the changes that have occurred in both public and professional opinion have resulted from politics, pressure, and public relations.

From After the Ball By Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen. (1989).

1. Talk about gays and gayness as loudly and often as possible. (Through sheer perseverance the opposition will be worn down)
2. Portray gays as victims, not aggressive challengers.
3. Give homosexual protectors a “just” cause.
4. Make gays look good. (Notice that the media always makes the “gay” character the hero)
5. Make the victimizers look bad.
6. Solicit funds: the buck stops here (i.e., get corporate America and major foundations to financially support the homosexual cause).

Book Review of The Homosexual Agenda: Exposing The Principal Threat To Religious Freedom Today

They [homosexual advocates] reframed the issue, taking it out of the moral realm, and presented it as a ‘human rights’ issue. Those who opposed their argument were deemed ‘hateful’ or ‘intolerant’ toward those that are ‘different’ - even though the group’s only identification is that of a chosen sexual behavior.
